The vet called yesterday. The biopsy came back negative, and Andre’s lump was nothing more than a cyst. When our animals are healthy, we’re happy.

We’re having a nice weekend so far. Wayne was able to catch up on some much-needed sleep while I went to the farmer’s market in search of Chinese broccoli. This is a vegetable I’ve never tried before, and I will use it for a test recipe called Pad See Ew. Pad See Ew is a Thai dish with chow fun noodles, greens, and two kinds of soy sauce. I’m feeling adventurous and hope I don’t have to resort to using the takeout menu when all is said and done.

Tomorrow we’re off to do a home visit for a potential bird adopter and a walk around Lake Chabot. Of course, no walk around a lake is complete without a picnic. Grilled vegetable sandwiches with garlic mayo (my new favorite sandwich) will be just perfect.
